Straight answers.
The fair questions from people who've already been burned and oversold — answered honestly, including the things VoltWatcher can't do.
About the product
The questions everyone asks first.
Isn't this just the wrench I already use every night?
Yes — minus the freezing driveway, the popped hood, and the spark. It's the same disconnect, but it's one button from your pocket, with a voltage readout so you can see it's holding, and it locks the car down as anti-theft too. Same result, none of the ritual.
I already replaced the battery and it still died. Why is this different?
Because it isn't trying to fix your battery — it's cutting the path everything drains through. A fresh battery still feeds the same always-live cable. VoltWatcher sits on that cable and physically opens it when you park, so the drain reaches nothing at all.
My mechanic couldn't even find the drain. How does this help?
You don't have to find it. Whether the draw is a known fault or a gremlin nobody can reproduce in the bay, an open circuit stops all of it at once. You cut the path instead of hunting the source — which turns an unfindable problem into an irrelevant one.
How hard is it to install?
A wrench and about five minutes. It clamps on between your battery post and the cable — no splicing, no probing circuits, no crawling under the dash. If you've ever unhooked a battery terminal, you can fit this.
Is it safe at 240 amps? I don't want a fire under my hood.
It's rated for 240A continuous — above typical cold-crank draw — with reverse-connection protection. It only sips about 3mA when on, and because it's magnetic-latching, it holds its state with virtually no power.
Will I lose my radio presets, clock, or settings?
Cutting the cord is the same as unhooking the battery, so some cars may reset things like clock or presets while it's off — exactly like the wrench method you may already use. Most modern vehicles restore these in moments once you press on before driving.
The honest part
What it can't do — said out loud.
We won't pretend. Knowing exactly where the line is is what makes the rest believable.
It doesn't actually fix the draw, though.
Correct, and we won't pretend otherwise. You've spent months and maybe two batteries trying to catch it. This lets you stop — for good — without ever finding it. For a ghost nobody can reproduce, a permanent disconnect is the fix.
Does it stop my battery from EVER dying?
No, and anyone who tells you that is selling you something. It can't stop the slow natural self-discharge a battery has by itself over many weeks. What it kills is the fast overnight drain that left you dead in days. It buys you months instead of days — not infinity.
Does it charge or maintain the battery?
No — it's a disconnect, not a charger. It doesn't add power; it stops power from leaking out while you're parked. If your battery is already weak or old, it still benefits from normal charging.
Will it work on my vehicle?
It's built for standard 12V vehicles — cars, trucks, SUVs, vans — and clamps onto a normal battery terminal. If you're unsure about your setup, email us a photo of your battery posts and we'll confirm before you buy.
Ordering, shipping & returns
The logistics, sorted.
How much is shipping and how long does it take?
Shipping is free on every order, with no minimum. Most orders arrive within 6–12 business days, including a 1–2 day processing window. Full details on our Shipping Policy.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal. Every order is processed through encrypted, secure checkout.
Can I cancel or change my order?
Yes — you can cancel free of charge within 12 hours of ordering, before it enters processing. After that it may already be packed or shipped, but reach out and we'll do whatever we still can.
What's your return & refund policy?
You're covered by a 60-day guarantee. If it arrives damaged or defective, we'll send a free replacement or full refund — your choice, no return cost to you. If you simply change your mind, you can return it within the window; in that case return shipping is paid by you. See our Refund & Return Policy.
How do I track my order?
As soon as your order ships, we'll email you a tracking number. Paste it on our Track Your Order page to see live status. Tracking can take a day or two to show movement after shipping.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Note that any customs fees, taxes, or import duties charged by your country are set by local authorities and are the customer's responsibility — they're not included in your order total.
Still got a question we didn't answer?
We're real people and we answer straight. If anything's still unclear — about your car or your order — just ask.
